Our Curriculum

At Umdoni Christian Academy, we are proud to be a registered Cambridge International School and exam centre, offering education programmes from Cambridge Assessment International Education, a part of the prestigious University of Cambridge. As a member of the world’s largest international community of schools, we prepare our students for a successful future with valued Cambridge qualifications recognized by universities and employers globally.

The five stages of Cambridge Pathway lead seamlessly from Early Years to Secondary and Pre-University years. Each stage – from Cambridge Early Years through to Advanced – builds on the learners’ development from the previous one, but can also be offered separately.

Since 2019, Umdoni Christian Academy has been an accredited Cambridge International School, operating as an exam center (Centre Number ZA296) . As an associate of the British Council South Africa, we provide exam services to both UCA students and private candidates in the Umdoni region.

We work closely with Cambridge Assessment, ACESA, NAISA, AEE, Universities South Africa (USAF) and the South African Qualifications Assurer (SAQA) to ensure that the academic qualifications obtained at UCA provide access to tertiary institutions both in South Africa and internationally.

Cambridge International exams (IGCSE and A/AS Levels)are written in two exam sessions, either in May/ June or Oct/November each year. Exam fees are payable at registration and the fees are available from the office three months before the registration. Contact the school at exams@umdonica.co.za for additional information.

Additional exam fees are applicable depending on the exams written and these need to be paid up before the start of the first exam in each series.

As a Cambridge International School, UCA offers a comprehensive range of Cambridge programmes catering to students aged 3 to 19 years. Our educational journey includes Cambridge Early Years, Primary, Lower Secondary, Upper Secondary, and the Advanced programme (IGCSE and AS Levels). Our students are provided with instruction for these programmes within our physical premises and take their exams in the same environment.

Cambridge encourages an active learning approach, where learners are actively engaged in their education rather than passively receiving information. We foster an environment that encourages students to participate in a variety of activities, promoting critical thinking and application of knowledge and skills.
